Unlock the power of digital health with CHIME’s Most Wired Survey
This April, digital health leaders from across the UK and beyond gathered together in Cambridge for the fifth CHIME International CXO Summit. We were joined by Toni Laracuente, Head of Analytics at CHIME central.
Read on to learn more about Digital Health Most Wired (CHIME’s digital health maturity benchmarking programme), as well as Toni’s reflections on the CXO Summit.
What is Digital Health Most Wired?
The Digital Health Most Wired programme is a global research initiative of the College of Health Information Management Executives (CHIME) that helps shape the future of healthcare delivery through objective, outcomes-driven evaluation. Conducted annually, the programme provides a comprehensive assessment of a health system’s digital ecosystem, offering valuable insights on an organisations current state of digital capability, and where opportunities for future investments and improvements that align with the Quintuple Aim of Health: better outcomes of care, improved patient and workforce experiences, cost efficiency, and health equity. By participating, organisations receive an actionable, evidence-based roadmap to digitally enabled care, helping them benchmark progress, identify opportunities, prioritise investments, and drive value-based transformation.
Most Wired launches in the UK
The first week of May marked an exciting milestone as the Digital Health Most Wired 2025 programme made its debut in the UK at the CHIME International CXO Summit, hosted at the prestigious Møller Institute, University of Cambridge. Toni Laracuente, Head of Analytics, facilitated two workshops on digital strategy and business case preparation, alongside presenting the refreshed Digital Health Most Wired framework designed to benchmark and advance digital health maturity.
The next step in the DHMW evolution is a project to work with UK digital health expert leaders to localise the survey content, ensuring it is fully aligned with the processes and needs of the UK healthcare delivery model.

Letter from Toni Laracuente
The CXO Summit attracted a dynamic group of digital health leaders from across the NHS, including many exceptional Nursing Leaders, perfectly timed in anticipation of International Nurses Day on the 12th May. Their passion for digital innovation and dedication to healthcare excellence signal a promising future for digital health transformation in the NHS.
A heartfelt thank you to the CHIME International team and my fellow faculty members for facilitating such a rewarding experience filled with learning, networking, and collaboration.
The summit even included some delightful downtime, with perfect weather for punting along the scenic River Cam and a wonderful dinner at Jesus College, Cambridge. What a privilege it was to be involved with this outstanding event, meet new friends and colleagues, and to advance the knowledge of digital health among this group of NHS leaders. Looking forward to the next event in September 2025. The future is bright for NHS digital!
